Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology Dr Jitendra Singh said that India is fast emerging as the world’s favourite and cost-effective healthcare destination. Inaugurating the Annual Conference of Indian Academy of Otorhinolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery organised by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital at Convention Centre, Jammu, Dr. Jitendra Singh said this.
Dr Singh added that Ayushman Bharat is so far the world’s best health insurance scheme, and the credit goes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for having conceptualised it. Further, he said that last 9 years have turned India into a cost effective medical destination.
For many years, India has emerged as a favourite healthcare destination. India is being seen as a potential medical tourist country, as a large number of foreigners come to India for medical facilities. India provides healthcare facilities at an economic price compared to any other nation. Over the years, India has become a medical hub and patients from all over the world come here for better treatment.
India has almost 600 globally and nationally accredited hospitals that provide world-class treatment in a cost-effective manner. India is expected to grow to reach a size of $50 billion by 2025 in this term. Massive efforts are on to build a robust life sciences ecosystem through science and research. World has witnessed India’s leadership role during COVID-19.
