The Indian men’s shooting trio Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar, Swapnil Suresh Kusale, and Akhil Sheoran on Friday bagged India’s seventh Gold medal in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Team event.
Their performance was nothing short of extraordinary, as they not only clinched the gold but also broke the world record with an impressive score of 1769. This outstanding achievement has propelled India to the fourth position in the points table at the Asian Games 2023.

India’s medal count in the Asian Games 2023 now stands at 7 gold, 9 silver, and 11 bronze medals, bringing the total tally to 27 medals.
As for the overall medal standings, China continues to dominate the competition, leading with an impressive total of 167 medals, including 90 gold, 51 silver, and 26 bronze. South Korea is in the second position with 24 gold, 23 silver, and 39 bronze medals, accumulating a total of 86 medals. Japan follows closely in third place with 18 gold, 30 silver, and 30 bronze medals.
