Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina arrives in India for G20 Summit

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday arrived in New Delhi to attend the G20 Summit. India is hosting the G20 meeting, scheduled to be held on September 9-10.

The Bangladeshi PM was received by Darshana Jardosh, Minister of State in the Ministry of Textiles and in Ministry of Railways at the Delhi Airport.

India and Banglades, the two neighbors, share bonds of history, language, culture, and a multitude of other commonalities. The partnership has strengthened, matured and evolved as a model for bilateral relations for the entire region and beyond.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, India was the first country to recognize Bangladesh as a separate and independent state and established diplomatic relations with the country immediately after its independence in December 1971. India’s links with Bangladesh are civilisational, cultural, social and economic.

In addition to Hasina, several other world leaders also arrived in India on Friday. Japanese PM Kishida arrived in Delhi to attend G20 Leaders’ Summit, and was received by MOS for Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Ashwini Kumar Choubey.

Further, UK PM Rishi Sunak, and his wife, and African Union President Azali Assoumani arrived in Delhi for G20 Summit.
