Chemotherapy services are now available: ESIC plans to build 15 new ESI hospitals and 78 ESI dispensaries

Giving great relief to cancer patients, ESIC has started chemotherapy in 30 hospitals across the country. Union Minister for Labor and Employment and Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupendra Yadav launched these services during the 191st meeting of ESI Corporation at ESIC Headquarters in New Delhi.

On this occasion, Yadav said that this launch is a step towards realizing the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the all-round welfare of our labor yogis in the Amritkaal of India. With the introduction of chemotherapy services in these hospitals, the insured workers and their dependents will be able to get better cancer treatment easily.

Bhupendra yadav stated through his social media platefor X-‘Chemotherapy facilities have been started in 30 ESIC hospitals across India during the 191st meeting of ESI Corporation. Today Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the efforts to strengthen the cancer treatment infrastructure. In response to Yadav’s post, PM Modi said on X, “Commendable effort to strengthen cancer treatment infrastructure. This will benefit many people across the country.”

The Union Minister also inaugurated a control room with ESIC’s dashboard. The dashboard will enable better monitoring of resources and beds in ESIC hospitals and will ensure to keep track of the current status of ongoing construction projects.

The meeting deliberated and decided on various works related to improvement in medical care services, administration, financial matters along with review of ongoing construction projects. The meeting decided to set up 15 new ESI hospitals, 78 ESI dispensaries, increase the number of beds in ESIC Hospital, Beltola, Assam, ESIC Medical College and Hospital, KK Nagar, Chennai, Tamil Nadu and ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Faridabad, Haryana. In-principle approval has been given.

During the meeting Union Minister Yadav said that ESIC Corporation has decided to ensure availability of skilled doctors in ESIC hospitals. For this, ESIC will further its work in the field of medical education. He said that after assessing the requirement, new ESIC Medical Colleges and Hospitals would be established. He said that so far 8 Medical Colleges, 2 Dental Colleges, 2 Nursing Colleges and one Para-Medical College have been established and are being run by ESIC.

Yadav also felicitated 5 iGoT learners of ESIC who topped on the iGOT (Karmyogi Bharaat) learning platform from the ESIC Offices of Rajasthan, Kerala and Bengaluru. The platform aims at promoting capacity development among civil services.
