External Affairs Minister (EAM) Dr. S. Jaishankar is set to undertake a visit to the United States from September 22 to September 30, 2023. During the week-long stay in New York from September 22 to September 26, EAM will lead the Indian delegation for the High-Level Week of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Aligning with India’s commitment to the Global South, EAM will host a special event titled ‘India-UN for Global South: Delivering for Development.’
Throughout his visit, EAM will participate in various plurilateral and bilateral meetings. He is also scheduled to meet with UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Dennis Francis, President of the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly. EAM will deliver an address during the High-Level Session of the 78th United Nations General Assembly on the morning of September 26.
Following his engagements related to the 78th UNGA, EAM will proceed to Washington D.C. from September 27 to September 30 for bilateral meetings with U.S. counterparts. His agenda includes discussions with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, meetings with senior members of the U.S. Administration, interactions with U.S. business leaders and think tanks, and an address at the 4th World Culture Festival organized by the Art of Living.
