France is ready to send teams to help Morocco quake victims – says Macron at G20 Summit

France stands ready to deploy technical teams to Morocco if and when the Kingdom asks for it, the French President Emmanuel Macron said at a news conference at the G20 summit in New Delhi, India on September 10.

A powerful earthquake rocked Morocco on September 8, killing more than 2,000 people with the number of victims likely to rise on Sunday as rescue teams search through rubble for survivors

Macron is among world leaders who offered help on Saturday to Morocco, saying France stood ready to help rescue efforts.

One French citizen died and eight were injured in the earthquake, a French Foreign Ministry official confirmed on September 9, with the tally so far unchanged on September 10.
