G20 at Bharat Mandapam: India’s fusion of technology & culture

As the G20 Summit unfolds at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, India is showcasing its technological prowess along with its vibrant art and culture through a series of captivating exhibitions. The G20 Summit, which is taking place on September 9 and 10, provides India with an opportunity to display its technological might and cultural treasure at the same time.

RBI’s Innovation Pavilion

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) takes center stage with its ‘Innovation Pavilion,’ where financial technologies are unveiled. It will include products demonstrating unique facets of India’s innovation in the financial sector. These include Central Bank Digital Currency; Public Tech Platform for Frictionless Credit using technology to provide loan in digitised paperless manner; and Unique Payment System products such as UPI One World, Rupay on the GO and Cross Border bill payment through Bharat Bill Payments.

Culture Corridor

One of the highlights of the G20 Summit is the ‘Culture Corridor – G20 Digital Museum’ at Bharat Mandapam. The culture corridor will represent and celebrate the shared heritage of G20 members and invitee countries. It will incorporate iconic and notable cultural objects and the heritage of the G20 members and nine invitee countries.

This Culture Corridor will serve as a powerful platform for promoting understanding and appreciation of diverse cultural expressions, knowledge sharing, inclusivity, and equality, and fostering a sense of shared identity.

Digital India Experience Zone

‘Digital India Experience Zone,’ a hands-on journey through India’s technological landscape. The Zone will provide key insights into the crucial initiatives of Digital India. Initiatives being showcased include Aadhaar, DigiLocker, UPI, eSanjeevani, DIKSHA, Bhashini, ONDC, Ask GITA.

Payment System Experience Centre

‘UPI One World’ extends the convenience of UPI to inbound foreign travellers, simplifying secure payments for those without Indian bank accounts. Delegates will be onboarded on UPI One World. Their wallets will be prefunded with Rs 2000, which they can utilise as they desire.

Crafts Bazaar

The ‘Crafts Bazaar’ awaits, offering a vibrant display of India’s handicraft heritage. It showcases products from various regions, emphasising the ‘One District One Product’ initiative and GI-tagged items. Around 30 states and UTs, as well as central agencies like Khadi Village and Industries Commission, TRIFED etc. will be participating in the Crafts Bazaar.

With the G20 Summit as its backdrop, India shines a spotlight on its cultural diversity, technological achievements, financial innovations, and artisanal craftsmanship.
