India & USA to co-host Indo-Pacific Armies Chiefs conference in New Delhi

The Indian Army, in collaboration with the United States Army, will co-host the 13th Indo-Pacific Armies Chiefs Conference (IPACC) in New Delhi. Both countries will also be co-hosting the 47th IPAMS (Indo-Pacific Armies Management Seminar) and the 9th Senior Enlisted Leaders Forum (SELF), a three-day conference of Chiefs of Armies and delegates of 35 countries in New Delhi from September 25th to 27th.

The Ministry of Defence informed that the central theme of this forum is “Together for Peace: Sustaining Peace and Stability in the Indo-Pacific Region.” It provides an opportunity for Army Chiefs and senior-level leaders from land forces, primarily in the Indo-Pacific region, to exchange ideas and views on security and contemporary issues.

The conference underscores the pressing need for collaboration among the armed forces of the Indo-Pacific nations to ensure regional peace and stability.

This event will be organised in the Manekshaw Centre, Delhi Cantt, and will see over 150 delegates participate in various plenary and round-table sessions. Key highlights include a joint press conference by General Manoj Pande, Chief of the Army Staff, Indian Army, and General Randy George, Vice Chief of Staff of the US Army, followed by an opening ceremony on September 26th, graced by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff.

“The Army Chiefs Conference will discuss issues of mutual interest and areas of cooperation to synergize efforts of all stakeholders for effecting peace and stability in the region,” said the Ministry.

Moreover, the delegates will also be visiting the National War Memorial. An event to showcase the Atmanirbhar Bharat Equipment Display will also be organised.

During the curtain-raising event, Lieutenant General MV Suchindra Kumar, Vice Chief of Army Staff, Indian Army, highlighted that the Indian Army has made significant contributions to promoting peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. He also emphasised that the Indian Army remains committed to humanitarian endeavours and relief efforts in the region.

As the event approaches, anticipation is growing for the constructive dialogues and collaborations that will emerge, reaffirming the commitment of countries to work together for peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
