The High Commission of India in Bangladesh celebrated Hindi Diwas Pakhwada in Dhaka on Tuesday. High Commissioner Pranay Verma inaugurated the program.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Verma said Hindi is an integral part of Indian Culture and also a symbol of Indian identity. The biggest strength of Hindi language is its originality and simplicity and due to that the use of Hindi language has increased in many countries.
The High Commissioner distributed prizes to the winners of the various competitions earlier held related to Hindi language.
A cultural programme showcasing the richness of Hindi language and culture was also organised on the occasion by the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) of the High Commission of India in Dhaka.
The High Commission’s staff and their family members and Faculty members and students of Dhaka University Hindi department participated in large numbers in the program.
