Union Minister of State for Electronics & IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar will launch the curtain raiser event for SemiconIndia 2024 on September 13, 2023 in Bengaluru. This flagship event, organized by SEMI, in partnership with Electronica & Productionica will span for two days at the Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre.

The curtain raiser event’s main theme is “India — a trusted partner and a rising force in the global electronics industry.” SemiconIndia aims to foster collaboration among industry leaders, researchers, and government officials to bolster India’s position as a significant player in the semiconductor industry. This event has evolved into a pivotal event in the nation, drawing together domestic and international organizations, all working towards the advancement of India’s electronics manufacturing sector.

At the forthcoming event, MoS Rajeev Chandrasekhar will underscore India’s strides in strengthening the global electronics and semiconductor ecosystem. He will emphasize India’s increasing momentum, particularly in the wake of the recent historic New Delhi declaration during India’s G20 Presidency.

Notably, this event is being organised after the grand success of SemiconIndia 2023, held earlier this year in Gujarat. SemiconIndia 2023 was organized by the India Semiconductor Mission in collaboration with industry partners and associations under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

With this event, the objective is to position India as a worldwide hub for semiconductor design, manufacturing, and technological advancements, aligning with the goals set forth by the India Semiconductor Mission. The event witnessed substantial engagement from startups, entrepreneurs, visionaries, scholars, researchers, and government officials, all dedicated to advancing India’s visionary path.

MoS Rajeev had earlier emphasized how India is becoming a trusted partner to the world. Prominent companies like Micron, AMD, Lam Research and Applied Materials are already investing in India, contributing to the growth of the manufacturing ecosystem, creating job opportunities, and aligning with India’s goal of achieving a 5 trillion-dollar economy.

India is at the forefront of the technological revolution, with a strong emphasis on electronics. Within this transformative wave, semiconductors occupy a pivotal position, serving as essential components across a wide spectrum of industries, including communication, defence, automotive, and computing devices.
