A magnitude 3.1 earthquake struck Assam’s Dhubri district at 3:01 am on Sunday, according to the National Center for Seismology.
The quake occurred at a depth of 17 km, with coordinates Lat: 26.08 and Long: 90.05.
The earthquake did not cause any damage, and as per reports, no one was harmed.
Earlier, on Monday, Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district was also struck by a magnitude 3.0 earthquake at 08:35:54 IST, with a depth of 5 km and coordinates Lat: 31.07 and Long: 77.98.
In September, Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi and Chamba districts were also affected by mild earthquakes measuring 2.8 and 2.1 on the Richter Scale, respectively.
