Jagriti G20 Startup20 Yatra 2023: Fostering inclusive entrepreneurship and global partnerships

In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Janbhagidari (people’s participation) and inclusive growth, a remarkable entrepreneurial train journey named Jagriti G20 Startup20 2023 has been officially launched from Mumbai.

According to an official statement from the State Bank of India (SBI), the primary objective of the Jagriti G20 Startup20 Yatra 2023 is to journey across the entirety of India, effectively conveying the fundamental message of the G20 New Delhi Declaration.

This initiative acts as a preparation for the imminent G20 Presidency that will be taken over by Brazil in late November. The Yatra places notable focus on several critical aspects, encompassing Inclusive Entrepreneurship, Women-led Development, Digital Transformation, Culture, Enabling Ecosystems, and Cross-border Collaboration.

The fundamental principles of the Delhi Declaration will be prominently showcased through seven grand events scheduled to take place in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Varanasi, Deoria, Delhi (two events), and Gandhinagar. These events will witness the presence of distinguished leaders.

This extraordinary train journey will cover a distance of 8000 kilometers across India, concluding in Mumbai on the 10th of November. The journey will be joined by 450 participants, including 70 from G20 nations, providing them with a unique opportunity to experience India’s diverse entrepreneurial and innovative landscape, gain insights into inclusive business practices, and cultivate global networking.

This transformative initiative receives substantial support from the State Bank of India (SBI), the largest financial institution in India, which is dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship and championing women-led developmental initiatives.

Dinesh Khara, Chairman of SBI, expressed the bank’s dedication, stating, “We are pleased to collaborate with the Jagriti G20 Startup20 Yatra, as it aligns with SBI’s commitment to nurturing entrepreneurship in the country and participating in women-led developmental initiatives. This initiative mirrors our focus on building a diverse and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem that drives economic growth and social progress.”

Once the Yatra is completed, the ceremonial handover of the baton will take place to Brazil. A unique element of this handover will be the transportation of water from India’s rivers, including the sacred Ganges, to Brazil. Brazil is planning an Amazon Yatra as part of the Startup 20 efforts in the country, echoing the spirit of the Jagriti Yatra.
