Asian Archery Championships: Aditi & priyansh storm into Compound Mixed Team event final

At the ongoing Asian Archery Championships, in Bangkok, the Indian team is putting up great display of performance. On Wednesday, Khelo India athletes World Champion Aditi Gopichand Swami, and U21 World Champion Priyansh, stormed into the finals of Compound Mixed Team event at the Asian Archery Championships, Bangkok.

They clinched 157-155 victory against Kazakhstan in the semifinals. They next face Thailand in the final on November 9. With them in the final, India is assured another medal in the Championship.

Meanwhile, in the Archery Women’s Compound event, India is assured both the first and second spot. Jyothi Surekha Vennam beat Huang I-Jou of Taiwan 148-145, while Parneet Kaur secured a 147-145 win against Lyan Viktoriya of Kazakhstan. The compatriots will now fight for the top 2 positions in the final.

On the other hand, archer Abhishek Verma will compete for the bronze medal after losing to Andrey Tyutyun from Kazakhstan in the Men’s Compound Events semifinals.

Meanwhile, the Indian women’s recurve team and men’s compound team won bronze medals at the Asian archery championships in Bangkok on Wednesday. The women’s recurve team comprising of Ankita Bhakat, Bhajan Kaur and Tisha Punia beat Chinese Taipei 5-1 in the bronze medal match. The men’s compound team comprising of Abhishek Verma, Prathamesh and Priyansh defeated Chinese Taipei in a shoot off (235-235) 29-28 to secure the bronze.
