Gujarat CM reviews preparations ahead of IND vs AUS World Cup Final

Ahead of the highly anticipated ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup final scheduled for November 19 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel led a comprehensive assessment of crucial aspects including security, cleanliness, and traffic management.

The review encompassed detailed insights into the security arrangements meticulously planned for the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium, which is set to host distinguished guests such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Deputy Prime Minister of Australia, Richard Marles.

Ensuring seamless transportation for the influx of spectators and esteemed dignitaries attending the match, CM Patel directed strategic measures for traffic management, including potential route diversions, with a primary focus on ensuring convenience and safety.

Moreover, proactive steps were taken to inform the public in advance through a media announcement, outlining essential details about the event. Collaborative efforts with transport services like BRTS, Metro Rail, and AMTS were highlighted, showcasing plans for additional trips and extended service hours to facilitate the smooth movement of citizens attending the match.

Underlining the significance of maintaining cleanliness in Ahmedabad, special attention was directed towards religious sites, tourist attractions, the Narendra Modi Stadium premises, bridges, and main thoroughfares. Emphasizing the role of the municipal corporation, Chief Minister Patel stressed the prioritization of cleanliness in these areas.

In addition to the cricket spectacle, various planned attractions such as the Air Force’s Surya Kiran team airshow, performances by folk singer Aditya Gadhvi, and musician Pritam were discussed. 

The comprehensive security plans shared by Director General of Police Vikas Sahay and Ahmedabad Police Commissioner Malik revealed the deployment of over 4,500 security personnel. These measures aimed not only to safeguard the event but also to ensure the secure transportation of the visiting cricket teams.

Acknowledging the significance of the dignitaries attending the match, the Police Commissioner briefed the Chief Minister on specific security arrangements tailored for ministers from the central government and chief ministers from other states.

The high-level meeting witnessed the participation of senior officials, including Chief Secretary Raj Kumar, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister K. Kailashnathan, Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department Shri Mukesh Puri, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Pankaj Joshi, and Principal Secretary Urban Development Ashwani Kumar, underscoring the collaborative efforts undertaken for the successful execution of the World Cup cricket final.
