Leaders, activists, and adherents of Islami Andolan Bangladesh gathered in significant numbers at Suhrawardy Udyan, Dhaka on Friday for a rally organized by the party.
The Islamist party is demanding that the national elections be held with the participation of registered political parties.
Before the afternoon rally officially commenced, several thousand party activists had already claimed a portion of the venue, as reported by UNB. They filled the air with Islamic songs and gazals to energize the assembly.
During a press conference held on Thursday, the party outlined their demands, which include the dissolution of the parliament, conducting a fair and impartial election under a national government, implementing a proportional election system, and abolishing the current Election Commission.
