YUVAi, a collaborative initiative led by the National e-Governance Division (NeGD) of the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) and Intel India, is poised to take center stage at the forthcoming Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) Summit. This joint venture focuses on empowering students from class 8 to 12 with essential AI skills, cultivating a deeper understanding of AI, and inspiring them to become responsible designers and users of AI.

Scheduled to take place in Delhi from December 12-14, the GPAI Summit is a global gathering of leaders, policymakers, and experts in the field of AI. It offers a platform to highlight the impact of YUVAi and its pivotal role in enabling young minds to responsibly leverage AI for addressing diverse social challenges.

Key Highlights of the YUVAi Program:

  • Three-Phase Approach: YUVAi adopts a comprehensive three-phase approach to ensure that a maximum number of students are equipped to face the future. The program introduces students to various social themes, guiding their AI knowledge towards practical solutions for real-world issues.
  • Cohort Progress: In the initial cohort, over 8,500 students registered and participated in online orientation sessions to grasp fundamental AI concepts. Teachers also underwent orientation sessions. More than 750 students submitted AI-based ideas addressing eight core themes.
  • Shortlisting and Training: During phase 2, the top 200 AI-based ideas were shortlisted. Students attended online deep dive AI training and mentorship sessions facilitated by certified Intel AI coaches and experts, enhancing their understanding and refining their solutions.
  • Prototype Development: In phase 3, the top 50 students attended a face-to-face rapid modeling workshop, receiving mentorship from industry experts to transform their projects into prototypes. A jury panel selected the top 10 students based on their innovative solutions.
  • GPAI Summit Representation: YUVAi’s top 10 finalists will represent the initiative at the GPAI Summit, showcasing their AI-based social impact projects. This provides a unique opportunity for YUVAi to inspire policymakers, educators, and industry leaders.
