IIGF 2023 set to address crucial digital policy issues

‘India Internet Governance Forum 2023’ is held in New Delhi today. The forum is a multi-stakeholder platform bringing together representatives from various groups to discuss public policy issues related to the Internet.

Electronic and IT Ministry said the event is an effort to discuss issues such as building a secure, trusted, and resilient cyberspace for Bharat, Enabling Innovation for India’s Developmental Goals, Bridging Divides, and Calibrating Bharat’s Digital Agenda. The India Internet Governance Forum is an initiative associated with the UN Internet Governance Forum.

Themed “Moving Forward – Calibrating Bharat’s Digital Agenda,” the hybrid event will explore key topics such as building a secure, trusted, and resilient cyberspace for Bharat, enabling innovation for India’s developmental goals, bridging divides, and leadership for global digital governance and cooperation.

Through an open and inclusive process, IIGF brings together all stakeholders in the Internet Governance ecosystem in the country – including Government, Industry, Civil Society, Academic Community, and social minorities – as equal participants in the larger Internet Governance discourse.

The in-person event, taking place at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, is held from 09:00 to 18:30 (IST). Those unable to attend in person can participate virtually by registering on the official event website: [IIGF 2023 Agenda](https://indiaigf.in/agenda-2023/).

Noteworthy international dignitaries from organizations such as the United Nations Internet Governance Forum (IGF) and Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) will join stakeholders from civil society, the private sector, technical communities, think tanks, and industry associations in various panel discussions throughout the day.

The India Internet Governance Forum, established in 2021, is affiliated with the UN IGF. Supported by a 14-member multi-stakeholder committee representing government, civil society, industries, technical communities, think tanks, and industry associations, the IIGF aims to facilitate a common understanding of maximizing internet opportunities while addressing potential risks and challenges.
