Ahead of the Budget Session of Parliament, the government has convened an all-party meeting today (January 30) to ensure the smooth functioning of both the Houses.

The session will begin tomorrow (January 31) and continue till the 9th of February. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi will hold the meeting in New Delhi with the floor leaders of political parties in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

The Parliament session will commence with the address of President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday (January 31). Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Interim Union Budget on the 1st of February.

This is a regular practice before every session, where leaders from different political parties come together to discuss the issues they want to raise in Parliament. This meeting also serves as an important platform for political parties to come together and work towards the betterment of the country through meaningful discussions and debates in Parliament.

The government also takes this opportunity to share its agenda and seek cooperation from the opposition parties. This session, which will run from January 31 to February 9, will be a short one as Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to present an interim budget before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The new government will then present a full-fledged budget after the elections.
