The Indian Air Force (IAF) is set to create a spectacular sight with a flypast featuring 51 aircraft during the Republic Day celebrations on January 26 in New Delhi. The impressive lineup comprises 29 fighter aircraft, 8 transport planes, 13 helicopters, and one heritage aircraft. Star participants include the Rafale, Sukhoi-30, Jaguar, C-130, and Tejas fighter jets, promising captivating formations in the sky.
Leading the IAF marching contingent are women officers Squadron Leader Rashmi Thakur, Sumita Yadav, Pratiti Alhuwalia, and Flight Lieutenant Kirti Rohil. This contingent, consisting of 144 air warriors, symbolizes the growing role of women in the armed forces.
Expressing enthusiasm, Squadron Leader Sumita Yadav said, “Our contingent is looking forward to putting on a great show in the Republic Day parade.” The IAF tableau’s theme, ‘Bhartiya Vayu Sena: Saksham, Sashakt, Atmanirbhar,’ showcases the air force’s capabilities and self-reliance.
Flying Officer Asma Sheikh emphasized the dedication behind the scenes, saying, “The practice is continuous, and we have to put on a big show in this Republic Day parade.” The commitment and hard work of the IAF members promise a visually stunning and memorable display for the audience.
A tri-service contingent of women Agniveervayu will also participate in the Republic Day parade, featuring 48 women.
