India Energy Week 2024 to kick off in Goa

The second edition of India Energy Week (IEW) is scheduled to commence in Goa from February 6 to 9. During the curtain-raiser press conference held on Monday, Hardeep Singh Puri, the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, shared that IEW 2024 is expected to attract ministerial-level participation from 17 countries, with an expected attendance of over 35,000 and more than 900 exhibitors.

Emphasizing the event’s significance, Puri said that IEW not only provides a platform to showcase advancements in the energy sector but also serves as a catalyst for fostering further industry growth.

A notable feature of the event is the special Make in India Pavilion, showcasing innovative solutions from Indian Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the energy sector. Puri said that six countries – Canada, Germany, Russia, the Netherlands, the UK, and the USA – will set up pavilions at the event.

Puri also highlighted the recent Energy Startup Challenge organized by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. Out of the 120 applications received, five startups have been selected. The winners of the startup challenge will receive mentorship opportunities from industry leaders and have the chance to exhibit their startup ideas during the event.

Reflecting on the success of the inaugural edition of IEW, Puri noted that this year’s edition will feature more dedicated sessions, including 46 strategic sessions and 46 technical sessions, aiming to cover a comprehensive range of topics within the energy domain.
