BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has been reappointed as the Chairman of the Asian Cricket Council, marking his third term in the role.
The decision was reached during the ACC Annual General Meeting in Bali on Wednesday. In 2021, he assumed the position, succeeding Nazmul Hassan in January.
“I am grateful to the ACC Board for their continued trust. We must remain committed to ensuring the all- round development of the sport with a special focus on regions where it is still in its infancy. The ACC is committed to nurturing cricket across Asia,” Shah said in a release.
Shah’s extension was proposed for the second time by Sri Lanka Cricket President Shammi Silva, and the nomination received unanimous support from all ACC members. His tenure has been extended until January 25, 2024.
At the age of 32, Shah became the youngest administrator to assume the role of ACC Chief. He completed his initial two-year term in 2021-22 and was reappointed last year.
