Srikanth will next face former World number one, Hong Kong’s NG Ka Long Angus in the pre-quarterfinals on Thursday.
In the women’s doubles, the pair of Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto moved to the second round after overpowering American duo Francesca Corbett and Allison Lee 21-13, 21-16 in the first round. They will next face Japan’s W. Nagahara and M. Matsumoto at 7:30am (IST).
Further, Lakhsya Sen will also be in action today and go head-to-head against H. Weng in the first round.
