Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday stressed India’s commitment to fostering friendly relations with other nations while reiterating the nation’s steadfast stance on foreign and security policies.

Speaking at a lecture titled “Security Beyond Tomorrow: Forging India’s Resilient Future” in New Delhi, Shah highlighted the strides India has made in bolstering internal security over the past decade.

Shah noted significant improvements in safeguarding the country, attributing these advancements to the establishment of new regulations—a first since independence. He underscored the importance of a robust system in ensuring the safety and stability of the nation.

At the event, Shah also introduced the ‘ORF Foreign Policy Survey-2023,’ showcasing the effectiveness of Prime Minister Modi’s foreign policy initiatives. Approximately 86 percent of respondents commended India’s foreign policy efforts, as revealed by the survey.

The home minister pointed out India’s diplomatic achievements, including the successful organization of the G20 summit and the adoption of the Delhi Declaration, which have bolstered India’s positive global standing. He lauded Prime Minister Modi for positioning India as an active participant in addressing global challenges such as terrorism, climate change, the International Solar Alliance, and the millet initiative.

Shah highlighted the global significance of the year 2024, which will witness elections in 40 countries, involving approximately 3.3 billion voters. He noted the significance of India’s Lok Sabha elections, with nearly one billion voters expected to participate, underscoring the nation’s unwavering commitment to democracy.
