The 7th India-Japan Act East Forum (AEF) convened on Monday in New Delhi, chaired by Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra and the Ambassador of Japan to India, Hiroshi Suzuki. The meeting centered on advancements in the cross-border survey aimed at bolstering trade and logistics between India and Bangladesh through the North East region.
Deliberations encompassed various ongoing projects covering sectors such as connectivity, renewable energy, urban development, forest management, skill enhancement, agriculture, healthcare, disaster-resilient infrastructure, agro-industries, tourism, cultural exchange, and Japanese language education.
Established in 2014 following discussions between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, the Act East Forum is committed to fostering the growth of India’s northeastern region and facilitating connectivity within it and with South-East Asia.
