Japan has pledged an Official Development Assistance (ODA) loan of approximately Rs 12,814 crore for nine development projects in India.
The ODA loan aims to promote economic development and welfare in developing countries. The assistance will support the following projects in India:
i) North East Road Network Connectivity Improvement Project (Phase 3) (Tranche II): Dhubri-Phulbari bridge
ii) North East Road Network Connectivity Improvement Project (Phase 7): NH 127B (Phulbari-Goeragre section)
iii) Startup and Innovation Promotion Project in Telangana
iv) Chennai Peripheral Ring Road Construction (Phase 2)
v) Sustainable Horticulture Promotion Project in Haryana (Tranche I)
vi) Climate Change Response and Ecosystem Services Enhancement Project in Rajasthan
vii) Medical College Hospital Establishment Project at Nagaland Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Kohima
viii) Urban Water Supply System Improvement Project in Uttarakhand
ix) Dedicated Freight Corridor Project (Phase 1) (Tranche V)
These projects aim to enhance infrastructure, alleviate traffic congestion, and improve connectivity in India. Additionally, they will contribute to the development of medical services, entrepreneurial skills, sustainable agriculture, forestry, and urban water supply.
