PM Modi to inaugurate India Energy Week 2024 in Goa

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Goa on February 6, where he will inaugurate significant projects aimed at advancing India’s energy goals and promoting developmental initiatives in the state.

Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the ONGC Sea Survival Centre, a pioneering Integrated Sea Survival Training Centre designed to elevate India’s sea survival training standards to global levels. The center is expected to annually train between 10,000 to 15,000 personnel, focusing on enhancing sea survival skills through simulated exercises in controlled harsh weather conditions.

As part of his visit, Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate the India Energy Week 2024, emphasizing the nation’s commitment to achieving self-sufficiency in energy requirements. The event, scheduled from February 6 to 9 in Goa, will be India’s largest energy exhibition and conference, encompassing the entire energy value chain. PM Modi is set to engage in a roundtable discussion with global oil and gas CEOs and experts to discuss India’s energy transition goals.

India Energy Week 2024 is expected to draw participation from around 17 energy ministers from different countries, with over 35,000 attendees and 900 exhibitors. The event will feature dedicated country pavilions and a special Make in India Pavilion, showcasing innovative solutions spearheaded by Indian MSMEs in the energy sector.

In conjunction with the energy-focused initiatives, Prime Minister Modi will participate in the Viksit Bharat, Viksit Goa 2047 program, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects totaling over Rs. 1330 crores. The projects include the inauguration of the permanent campus of the National Institute of Technology Goa and the new campus of the National Institute of Watersports, offering tailor-made courses for watersports development.

PM Modi will dedicate a 100 TPD Integrated Waste Management Facility in South Goa, designed for the scientific treatment of wet and dry waste, featuring a 500 KW solar power plant. He will also lay the foundation stone for a Passenger Ropeway connecting Panaji and Reis Magos, and for a 100 MLD Water Treatment Plant in South Goa.

The Prime Minister will further distribute appointment orders to 1930 new government recruits during a Rozgar Mela and hand over sanction letters to beneficiaries of various welfare schemes, highlighting the multifaceted approach towards development during his visit to Goa.
