Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth over 11,000 crore rupees in Assam. These initiatives aim to enhance connectivity in the Northeast region with other South Asian countries, promoting economic growth.

Addressing the audience, the Prime Minister emphasized that these projects would create more job opportunities, particularly in the tourism sector. He highlighted the positive shift in Assam, with over seven thousand youths choosing to contribute to the country’s progress instead of being involved in conflict.

PM Modi mentioned the removal of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) in several regions and the significant improvement in the healthcare sector. Under the BJP government, Assam has witnessed the establishment of six additional medical colleges, making the state a prominent center for cancer treatment in the Northeast.

The Prime Minister also recognized the cultural and historical significance of pilgrimages, temples, and places of faith in India. He stressed that these sites are integral to the country’s civilization, representing a journey spanning thousands of years.

Reflecting on the neglect of historical sites in the past, PM Modi asserted that understanding and preserving one’s history is essential for a country’s progress. He noted the positive changes in the last decade, indicating a renewed appreciation for India’s cultural heritage.
