The Punjab and Haryana High Court has censored the farmers who have been protesting at the Shambhu border with hundreds of tractors. A two-judge bench, including acting chief justice GS Sandhawalia and Justice Lapita Banerji, stated that the protestors cannot disrupt public life. The court highlighted that according to the Motor Vehicle Act, tractor trolleys cannot be used on highways.

Additionally, the bench questioned the Punjab government for allowing such a large gathering of farmers. The high court addressed these concerns while hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by advocate Uday Pratap Singh, a resident of Panchkula. The petitioner emphasized that the road blockade has been causing inconvenience to residents and has hindered the movement of ambulances, school buses, and pedestrians since February 13.

Meanwhile, during the hearing, both the Punjab and Haryana governments submitted status reports on the situation on the ground. This development comes amid ongoing tensions between the protesting farmers and the government over contentious agricultural laws.
