Union Minister Anurag Thakur calls for participation in ‘Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye’ campaign

Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Anurag Thakur, on Tuesday urged citizens to join the ‘Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye’ campaign, emphasizing the importance of encouraging young voters to exercise their democratic right.

Taking to social media platform X, Thakur shared the anthem of the ‘Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye’ campaign, echoing a recent call by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the 110th episode of his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program.

In his address, PM Modi highlighted the Election Commission’s campaign and urged eligible youth to participate actively in the upcoming elections.

“India is proud of its youth power full of enthusiasm and energy. The more our youth participate in the electoral process, the more beneficial its results will be for the country,” PM Modi said.

According to Election Commissioner Anup Chandra Pandey, the size of the electorate has increased from 17.32 crore in the first general elections to 96 crores for the upcoming general elections, with a balanced gender distribution.
