Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday will launch the National Cooperative Database, an online digital dashboard intended to function as a repository of cooperative societies, including national/state federations.
The Ministry of Cooperation said in a statement that the database, containing information on approximately 8 lakh cooperatives with a total membership exceeding 29 crores, will function as a crucial tool for facilitating efficient communication among the central ministry, states/UTs, and cooperative societies. The initiative is expected to benefit all stakeholders in the cooperative sector.
Additionally, the database will include the contact information of registered societies, streamlining communication between government entities and these societies.
Describing it as a milestone, the ministry said that the initiative represents a positive transformation at the grassroots level, aligning with the vision of a prosperous and ‘AtmaNirbhar Bharat’.
