Belarusian Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik, during his visit to India from March 12 to 13, held discussions with Union Minister Piyush Goyal in the national capital on Wednesday.
Aleinik and Goyal explored ways to boost bilateral trade by collaborating in the production of electric vehicles, agriculture machinery and harvesting equipment. They also discussed opportunities for cooperation across various sectors including trade, economy, insurance, defence, education, IT, and science and technology.
Aleinik also held meetings with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, with a focus on strengthening cooperation in areas of defence, health, pharmaceuticals, and fertilizers.
Previously, bilateral cooperation between India and Belarus has been facilitated through mechanisms such as Foreign Office Consultations, an Intergovernmental Commission (IGC), and Joint Working Groups.
