PM Modi announces LPG cylinder price cut by Rs 100 on Women’s Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a price cut of Rs. 100 for LPG cylinders on International Women’s Day.

In a statement, Prime Minister Modi highlighted that this price cut is not only aimed at making cooking gas more affordable but also at supporting the overall well-being of households and contributing to a healthier environment.

“Today, on Women’s Day, our government has decided to reduce LPG cylinder prices by Rs. 100. This will significantly ease the financial burden on millions of households across the country, especially benefiting our Nari Shakti,” PM Modi shared on social media on Friday.

He further added, “By making cooking gas more affordable, we also aim to support the well-being of families and ensure a healthier environment. This is in line with our commitment to empowering women and ensuring ‘Ease of Living’ for them.”

Prime Minister Modi also extended wishes on International Women’s Day, acknowledging the strength, courage, and resilience of women. He applauded their accomplishments across various fields and reiterated the government’s commitment to empowering women through initiatives in education, entrepreneurship, agriculture, technology, and more. He said that this commitment is reflected in the government’s accomplishments over the last decade.

Notably, the central government has provided 14.17 crore free LPG refills nationwide under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
