Soumendu Bagchi, Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer of batch 1993, has been appointed as India’s next ambassador to Iraq, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Monday.
Bagchi is currently the Deputy Director General, of the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA).
Meanwhile, Abhilasha Joshi, Indian Foreign Service officer of batch 1995, has been appointed as the next envoy of India to Chile.
Presently, Joshi is an additional secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs.
