A delegation from the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) is set to visit Bangladesh for bilateral discussions on renewing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India’s National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) and Bangladesh’s Ministry of Public Administration.
Led by Secretary V. Srinivas, the DARPG delegation comprising four members will engage in discussions from April 28 to April 30, 2024. The primary agenda of the visit is to negotiate the renewal of the MoU for the period 2024-2029, focusing on mid-career capacity-building programs for Bangladesh Civil Servants.
Since 2014, NCGG and the Bangladesh Ministry of Public Administration have collaborated on capacity-building programs, conducting 71 programs and hosting 2600 Bangladesh Civil Servants at NCGG. Recognizing the value of these programs, the Bangladesh Government has expressed interest in renewing the MoU, which expires in 2025, for another five years.
During the visit, Secretary V. Srinivas will hold bilateral meetings with key officials, including the Hon’ble Minister of Public Administration, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, and Directors General of various administrative academies and training centers. Secretary Srinivas will also deliver a lecture on “Institutionalization of SMART Governance to Enhance Public Service Delivery” and engage with alumni of NCGG programs.
Additionally, the delegation will visit the Ashrayan Project in Narayanganj district and interact with participants of law and administration courses at the Bangladesh Civil Services Administration Academy. The visit underscores the commitment of both countries to enhance cooperation in civil service capacity-building initiatives.
