LS polls 2024: PM Modi addreses public meetings in Nanded and Prabhani, Maharashtra

Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed two public meetings in Nanded and Parbhani, Maharashtra, amidst overwhelming support from the BJP-NDA supporters.

Speaking about the initial phase of voting for the Lok Sabha elections, PM Modi said, “We have the popular support of the first-time voters. The BJP-NDA alliance has united to combat corruption, and the people have firmly rejected the I.N.D.I. alliance in the first phase of polling. The country is voting for BJP-NDA to build a developed India. The I.N.D.I. alliance fails to provide clarity on its leadership.”

Addressing a Vijay Sankalp meeting in Parbhani, Prime Minister Modi cautioned against the Congress and the I.N.D.I. Alliance, stating, “Beware of the Congress and the I.N.D.I. Alliance! Congress is like a vine with no roots or ground; it only dries up those who support it.”

The Prime Minister compared the media discourse of the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha polls, noting a significant shift over the five years. He remarked that earlier, media primarily debated “cross-border terrorism.”

“In 2014, the talk was of the fear of terrorist attacks. Every day there was news of bomb blasts. Five years later, in 2019, the discussion of cross-border attacks stopped and the discussion of surgical strikes started, and ‘Yeh toh Modi hai ghar mein ghus kar marega’ started…” he said.

Further, the senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Modi criticized the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra for neglecting the state’s issues and highlighted the benefits the state is now receiving from central government schemes.

The results of the seven-phase polls will be announced on June 4th.

The second phase will be held on April 26th, followed by subsequent phases on May 7th, May 13th, May 20th, May 25th, and June 1st.

The last general elections in 2019 were also conducted in seven phases.
