Balochistan | Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Heavy rains continued to batter several provinces of Pakistan on Tuesday, raising the death toll to 39, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reporting 21 fatalities alone.

The Balochistan government imposed an “urban flood emergency” in Quetta, Dawn reported.

The northern parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been severely affected, enduring heavy rainfall, floods, and landslides for the fourth consecutive day.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) chairman to coordinate relief efforts with all provincial authorities and ensure timely delivery of relief supplies to affected areas.

In Swat, a house collapse in Matta resulted in the loss of over 40 cattle, while numerous roads were blocked due to heavy rain and landslides. Though the Karakoram Highway remains open, tourists heading to Swat, Kalam, and Kumrat have been stranded due to road blockages caused by landslides.
