Actor Rupali Ganguly, acclaimed for her role in the TV series ‘Anupamaa’, on Wednesday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Ganguly was officially welcomed into the BJP at the party’s headquarters in the national capital.
Addressing a press conference, Ganguly said that she was inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his work, which motivated her to join the party.
“When I see this ‘Mahayagya’ of development, I feel that I should also take part in this…I need your blessings and support so that whatever I do, I do it right and good,” Ganguly said.
“I wish to follow in the footsteps of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-ji and serve fellow citizens in whatever role I am entrusted with. I intend to work under the guidance of Amit Shah-ji and make all of my leaders and cadres proud of me”.
Ganguly has been prominent figure in the entertainment industry since the early 2000s, but it was her role in Star Plus’ ‘Anupamaa’ that catapulted her to fame.
Daughter of filmmaker Anil Ganguly, Rupali Ganguly has also acted in medical drama ‘Sanjivani’.
Her portrayal of Monisha in ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’ earned her a massive fan following across the nation.
