#Beat the Heat | government advisory

As summer temperatures rise, the Government of India has issued important guidelines to help protect yourself and your loved ones from the heat. Here are the key tips to stay safe:

Avoid Direct Sunlight
The sun is strongest during midday. To prevent heat-related illnesses, try to stay indoors or in the shade during these hours. If you must go outside, wear protective clothing, a hat, and sunscreen.

Never Leave Children or Pets in Parked Vehicles
Temperatures inside parked cars can quickly become dangerously high. Never leave children or pets alone in a vehicle, even for a short time. Always check your car before locking it.

Wear Shoes Outside
Walking barefoot on hot surfaces like pavement or sand can cause burns. Always wear shoes to protect your feet from the heat.

Avoid Strenuous Activities During Midday
The hottest part of the day is usually between 12 PM and 4 PM. Avoid heavy work or exercise during these hours. If you need to perform strenuous activities, do them early in the morning or late in the evening when it’s cooler. Drink plenty of water and take breaks in the shade.
