The monsoon’s northern limit currently extends through Mundra, Mehsana, Udaipur, Shivpuri, Siddhi, Lalitpur, Chaibasa, Haldia, Pakur, Sahibganj, and Raxaul. Meteorologists predict favorable conditions for its further advancement into remaining parts of North Arabian Sea, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and portions of several northern states in the next 3-4 days.

Widespread rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is expected over Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Karnataka, Kerala & Mahe, Lakshadweep, Gujarat state, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh in the coming days.

The eastern and northeastern regions are not exempt from the wet weather. Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall is likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura.

In the north, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, and East Uttar Pradesh are expected to receive heavy rainfall. As the week progresses, very heavy rainfall is forecasted for Uttarakhand, parts of Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana.

The IMD advises residents in affected areas to stay informed about local weather updates and take appropriate measures to ensure safety during periods of heavy rainfall. Authorities in vulnerable regions are on high alert for potential flooding and landslides.
