Home Minister Amit Shah leads by 6,37,104 votes in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar

Union Minister Home Minister Amit Shah is leading in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar constituency by 6,50,399 votes.

According to the Election Commission of India’s latest data, Shah has garnered around 8,58,197 votes. His nearest rival, Congress’s Sonam Ranambhai Patel, trails far behind with 2,07,798 votes.

The BJP is leading in 25 of the 26 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat, with the Congress ahead in the sole seat of Banaskantha. Earlier, the BJP won Surat unopposed after Congress candidate Nilesh Kumbhani was disqualified over alleged “fake signatures” of witnesses.

Meanwhile, BJP is leading in Ahmedabad East, Ahmedabad West, Amreli, Anand, Bardoli, Bharuch, Bhavnagar, Chhota Udaipur, Dahod, Gandhinagar, Junagadh, Kachchh, Kheda, Mahesana, Navsari, Panchmahal, Patan, Porbandar, Rajkot, Sabarkantha, Surendranagar, Vadodara, and Valsad.

Nationally, early trends defy exit poll predictions. While most forecasted an NDA victory, few anticipated such a strong showing. Currently, the BJP leads in 241 seats, with its NDA coalition at 295—comfortably past the 272 majority mark.

Meanwhile, the INDIA bloc is leading on 233 seats and others on 17 seats. Congress is leading in 99 seats, Samajwadi Party in 35, DMK in 21 seats, Trinamool Congress in 30, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray) in 10 seats, NCP (SP) in eight seats, CPI(M) in five seats and Aam Aadmi Party in three seats.

Around 642 million people voted in Lok Sabha elections held over seven phases in a mammoth six-week period.
