NEET-UG 2024: National Testing Agency declares centre-wise data for medical entrance exam

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the state-wise and centre-wise results of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2024 on Saturday, July 20. This release comes in compliance with a Supreme Court directive issued on July 18, which mandated the publication of results by July 20.

Candidates can now access their results on the official NEET website (https://neet.ntaonline.in/frontend/web/common-scorecard/index) by entering their login credentials. The results have been published separately for each city and examination centre, as per the Supreme Court’s instructions.

A Supreme Court bench, led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and including Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, ordered the NTA to publish the results by 12 noon on Saturday. This directive came in response to petitions from students seeking greater transparency in the examination process.

The court’s order stated, “We direct the NTA to publish the marks obtained by students in the NEET-UG 2024 exam while at the same time ensuring that the identity of the students is masked. The results should be declared in relation to each centre and city separately.”

The NEET-UG 2024 examination, a crucial gateway for admissions into MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other medical courses across India, was conducted on May 5 across 4,750 centres. Approximately 24 lakh candidates participated in the exam.

The Supreme Court is set to continue hearing pleas alleging paper leaks and malpractices in the NEET-UG 2024 exams on July 22. The NTA has faced significant criticism and legal challenges regarding the conduct of the exam, leading to protests and calls for increased transparency.
