A racecourse in Auburn, Washington swapped horses for dinosaurs as contestants clad in Tyrannosaurus rex costumes competed for the title of fastest prehistoric runner on Saturday (August 17).
Runners of all ages took part in the annual “T-Rex World Championship Races” at the Emerald Downs track.
The event, which began in 2017, featured several heats with contestants required to wear inflatable, wobbly-headed T-rex costumes.
A runner competing under the name ‘Dinogizer’ took home the trophy for children aged 11 and under, ‘Do Your Homework’ won the ages 12-16 category, ‘One Shell Of A Dino’ won the men’s heat, ‘My Rex Girlfriend’ dominated the women’s section and ‘Fossilizer’ proved the fastest dinosaur over 50.
