Emmy-winning actor Mario Lopez was honored on Thursday (October 10) with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the television category.
“Growing up, I had no idea anything like this was even possible,” Lopez said after the ceremony. “The whole thing is just a surreal experience and I’m just, I feel so blessed.”
Actor Mark Wahlberg, a friend of Lopez, joked that he had been watching Lopez on television since he was a child, yet Lopez is two years younger than him.
“How is that even possible?” Wahlberg said.
Lopez got his big break in the 1990s series “Saved by the Bell” and more recently has appeared on the shows “This is Us” and “Jane the Virgin.” He also hosts two television entertainment shows.
Thursday was also the actor’s birthday.
