The celebrations for Ayurveda Day 2024, themed “Ayurved Innovation For Global Health,” were held at the High Commission of India in Bangladesh on Tuesday. As part of the event, the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre organized lectures and exhibition stalls on Ayurveda, followed by a Sitar Sangeet performance in Dhaka.

Speaking on the occasion, the acting High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh, Pawan Badhe, emphasized the importance of collaboration and knowledge sharing between India and Bangladesh in the field of Ayurveda and other traditional medicines.

The High Commissioner noted that Ayurveda is an ancient healing science and way of life, deeply rooted in the civilization of India. Since 2016, the birthday of Sage Dhanwantari, the “Father of Ayurveda,” has been celebrated as “Ayurveda Day.”

Ayurveda experts, researchers, students, representatives of the pharmaceutical industry, and prominent members of civil society in Bangladesh were present at the event.
