External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar emphasized India’s growing role in the global job market on Sunday, highlighting the government’s proactive steps in creating employment opportunities for Indians beyond national borders.

Speaking to the press in Mumbai, Jaishankar stated, “We believe that employment is not confined to the country alone. Today, we see a global workspace. Be it in Europe, America, or Malaysia, we have fostered conditions through agreements, enabling our people to work abroad.”

He also highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent efforts to attract foreign investments, noting his recent US visit where he engaged with CEOs of major companies.

“When PM Modi visited the US, he met with CEOs of leading companies to encourage investment in India,” Jaishankar added.

On the diplomatic front, Jaishankar spoke about India’s effective management of border security, counter-terrorism, and regional stability, acknowledging ongoing global tensions, including the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Jaishankar’s remarks underline the government’s focus on regional security and counter-terrorism, while also illustrating India’s active role in global diplomacy. By addressing these challenges, India seeks not only to elevate its international standing but also to safeguard its citizens’ welfare.

Referring to PM Modi’s initiatives, Jaishankar said, “Whether it’s border security, counter-terrorism, or regional instability, we are effectively managing these issues. Global tensions persist, especially with the Russia-Ukraine conflict. In his third term, PM Modi took the initiative, meeting President Putin during his visit to the BRICS summit.”

PM Modi visited the United States on September 21-23 to participate in the fourth Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, hosted by the US President on September 21.
