Nearly Rs 1.82 billion has been deposited into the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund. According to the PMO, the amount was collected for disaster survivors as of October 20. The fund has received contributions from individuals, institutions, companies, and agencies.
The government has been using these resources to provide relief and rehabilitation for people affected by floods and landslides caused by the incessant rains on September 27-28.
Families of 238 people who lost their lives in the recent floods have received financial assistance from the government. Municipalities in crisis-hit areas are also receiving funds to manage the impact of the recent disasters.
