A boarding bridge collapsed onto Kuwait Airways plane, shearing off its door at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport early on Wednesday. The incident took place at Kuwait Airways flight KU-283, a Boeing 777-300 aircraft, at about 2:20 AM on Wednesday.

After all passengers had disembarked, the boarding bridge attached to the aircraft’s door suddenly collapsed. At the time of the incident, only the pilot and cabin crew remained onboard.

The damaged aircraft, which was scheduled to depart for Kuwait at 2:45 am with 284 passengers, is now grounded at the Dhaka airport.

Kuwait Airways sources said that due to the damage, the Kuwait-bound passengers had been accommodated in hotels, adding that another Kuwait Airways flight would arrive in Dhaka to transport them.
