The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Women’s Selection Committee has unveiled the 15-member squads for India’s upcoming series against the West Indies. The series includes three T20Is and three ODIs, scheduled to take place over the next two weeks.
Harmanpreet Kaur will captain the side in both formats, with Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh, Uma Chetry, Titas Sadhu, Deepti Sharma, Saima Thakor, Renuka Singh Thakur, Minnu Mani, and Priya Mishra also included across both squads.
For the T20I squad, Nandini Kashyap, Sajana Sajeevan, Raghvi Bist, and Radha Yadav will feature, though they will not take part in the ODIs. Instead, Pratika Rawal, Tejal Hasabnis, and Tanuja Kanwer will join the ODI squad as replacements, as reported by the ICC.
The team faces a few injury concerns, with Yastika Bhatia, Shreyanka Patil, and Priya Punia sidelined. Priya Punia sustained a knee injury during the second ODI against Australia.
The T20I matches are set to take place at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, while the ODIs will be held at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.
India enters the series looking to regain form after a challenging outing against Australia in their most recent ODI assignment, which ended in a 3-0 sweep. This outcome dealt a blow to India’s position in the ICC Women’s Championship standings. The team will aim to gather crucial points in their matches against the West Indies and subsequently Ireland.
The schedule for the matches is as follows: the T20Is will be held on December 15, 17, and 19, followed by the ODIs on December 22, 24, and 27.
