Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday reaffirmed the government’s commitment to achieving the goal of a developed India, emphasizing that empowering and prospering farmers remains a key focus of his administration.
Addressing the post-Budget webinar on Agriculture and Rural Prosperity via video conferencing, PM Modi underscored the crucial role of food producers, stating that agriculture will always serve as the primary engine of the country’s development.
“We are advancing with two major goals—first, the development of the agriculture sector, and second, the prosperity of our villages,” PM Modi said.
He reiterated India’s clear resolve to progress towards becoming a developed nation.
“Together, we are working towards building an India where farmers are prosperous and empowered,” he added.
“Our goal is to ensure that no farmer is left behind. Every farmer must progress. We are committed to developing the agricultural sector and enhancing village prosperity,” he said.
PM Modi further highlighted that this year’s Budget, the first full Budget of the NDA government’s third term, reflects policy continuity. He also acknowledged the valuable inputs and suggestions received during the Budget preparation.
Discussing the newly launched PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana, he noted that the scheme focuses on developing 100 districts with the lowest agricultural productivity in the country.
“Our government is dedicated to strengthening the rural economy. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin, millions of poor citizens are being provided with houses, while the Ownership Scheme has granted ‘Record of Rights’ to property owners,” PM Modi said.
Further elaborating on initiatives to boost fruit and vegetable production, he emphasized that significant investments have been made to meet the growing demand in horticulture, dairy, and fisheries.
