PM Narendra Modi | Pahalgam attack | CCS meeting

Pahalgam attack: Key cabinet meetings at PM Modi’s residence conclude

The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, convened for the second time in a week on Wednesday, following the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives.

The CCS, along with the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs (CCPA) and the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), met at the Prime Minister’s residence in New Delhi.

The second CCS meeting focused on assessing security preparedness in the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack. Officials highlighted the cross-border linkages of the incident and noted that the attack came shortly after the successful conduct of elections in the Union Territory, amid its steady progress toward economic growth and development.

A cabinet briefing is scheduled for 3:00 pm.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Modi chaired a high-level meeting attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and the chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval also participated in the discussions.
